About the Artist
A Florida native, Worden’s unique style of
painting evolved from his Caribbean travels, his fascination with
marine life and his strong background in
graphic design. After formal art training at the
renowned Ringling School of Art & Design in Sarasota, Florida, Worden
spent nearly ten years as creative director for Husebo Advertising in
central Florida. It was during this time that Worden traveled and dove
many of the caribbean’s most beautiful waters.
In 1999, Worden renovated an historic Port Salerno
storefront into a working studio. There, Worden executes his visions,
takes on commissions, and displays his art. He lists among his notable
collectors: Kent Rockwell, Michael Richman and William Stamler.
On his artistic philosphy, Mark says, “Art
is communication. My job as an artist is to act openly to channel my
creative expression of the things that inspire me. My goal as an
individual is to call attention to the beauty and wonder which exists
underwater and ultimately inspire more aggressive conservation
measures.”
